Your Mindful Content Prompt - September 10, 2023
Speak to an earlier version of yourself
Every Sunday, I send you a prompt to help you create a piece of content. This could be a social post, a blog, a newsletter, a video—whatever you feel called to create. (If you end up not sharing what you create, consider it good practice that will help you get into the habit of writing and playing with new formats or ideas.)
Theme: Your Former Self
Your mindful content prompt for this week:
Write a piece of content that speaks to a previous version of yourself, and offers exactly what that version of you needed to hear.
What support could you have used when you were getting started?
What do wish someone had told you?
What did you need, but could never find?
Turn this into content you share with your community, in whatever format you choose and wherever it feels right. Here’s some suggestions on how to work with it:
Connect this to why you are doing, creating, offering, or sharing what you are today
Build a connection with your community by showing them you’ve been where they are and can offer unique support
Hone in on one challenge your community might be facing right now that you also faced earlier in your life/career, and offer tips on what you wish you had done now that you have perspective
If you’re creating content for a brand other than your own:
What does the brand/business offer that you may have needed in the past? Write a post about that offering as if you’re writing to that previous version of yourself.
Share your content with me!
Feel free to share whatever you create with this content via the comments below, or send it to me on Instagram. You can find me @themysticalfarrey. I will share it in my stories!
Episode 11 of The Mindful Content Creator Podcast this week will focus on who you’re really talking to with your content—which is likely an earlier version of yourself! I’ll talk about how writing to yourself can be helpful when creating content.
Feel free to come back here to this post and share in the comments below what your experience was like writing to an earlier version of yourself. Did you feel a stronger connection to the content?
Happy creating!
